I get asked all of the time by people “how do I know that the food that I am eating is organic?”

Well, when we buy food in the supermarket, there is an organic certification process managed by the USDA. Those organic food products have the organic seal.

Yet, what do we do when we go to restaurants?

While there are a very few restaurants that have actually been certified organic (there is one here in NYC called Gustorganics), most of them are not.

In this video, I share with you the one question that I always ask when I go to a new organic restaurant. The answer gives me a good idea about how serious they are about organic.

    Hi Max–

Good comment on what to ask at organic restaurants.

Could you tell me please, how do I find which restaurants are certified organic in the country? I specifically want to know about Chicago but I want to spread the word to friends in other states. Is there a directory that you know of?

Thanks for your work and time.
    Be well.

      Thanks, Bob!!

I don’t have a list of the certified organic restaurants in the country but that is probably a good topic for a blog post.

Chicago: I don’t know of any there. There was one called Crust but it closed. This place http://www.uncommonground.com/pages/eat/62.php has a certified organic rooftop garden.

Also, I don’t know of a directory that lists all of the certified organic restaurants across the country. Sorry.

      Live well,
      Max
