On the third Friday of every month, I have a column called Eco-Friendly Fridays. I started this column because I run across so many amazing organic, non-food items that I believe people ought to know about.

If you’ve been a reader of Living Maxwell for a while now, you probably know that I am a huge, huge fan of Vermont Soap Organics.

And if you ever walked into my apartment, you would see their products everywhere. Produce Magic is the only fruit & vegetable wash that I use and recommend, Liquid Sunshine is an amazing household, non-toxic cleaner, and the Lemongrass Zen Foaming Soap will make you want to wash your hands 20 times a day.

However, the company’s most innovative, and maybe important, product is its Toothbrush Sanitizer.

Just think about it for a second. When was the last time you cleaned your toothbrush? Ever?

Imagine all of the germs that accumulate on that toothbrush and yet we put it into our mouths twice a day.

Larry Plesent, the founder of Vermont Soap Organics, came up with this product because he felt failed by modern dentistry.

After reading in a British dental journal that toothbrushes can contain up to 1 trillion germs and seeing his oral health worsen, despite brushing and flossing twice a day, Larry began to think about what was going on.

“There is no hope for oral health if every time you put a dirty toothbrush into your mouth, you are re-infecting your gums with toxic germs. There is no hope of escaping gum disease.

“I was doing all of the right things and exactly what the dentist told me to do, but my oral health was deteriorating. I didn’t see how modern dentistry was successful when people were always getting worse.”

So, he took a step back and thought about what he would do if he were to re-invent dentistry as we know it today.

The first thing that came to him was to make sure that the brush he put into his mouth was as clean as possible.

A brilliant formulator, Larry quickly developed the world’s first certified organic Toothbrush Sanitizer, made with organic alcohol and an organic essential oil blend, to kill the dangerous germs that he had been reading about.

And when he began to use the product, the results were noticeable. His oral health started to stabilize and no longer worsened.

I first learned about the Toothbrush Sanitizer from Larry several years ago, and ever since then, I have been using it twice a day. Plus, I take it with me whenever I travel.

With E.coli and Staph lurking on our toothbrushes, I want to do whatever I can to keep harmful germs out of my mouth.

Max, I clicked on the link to the product and noticed the first URL to pop before being redirected to the shopping page had the word partners in it. I wondered if you’re part of an affiliate program for the company, I.e. If you receive some benefit or value from them for sending people to their website. I can respect if you honestly respect and promote their products, but transparency on your relationship would also be important if that were the case. Thanks!

      Hi Kat,

I am an affiliate of Vermont Soap Organics and get paid a commission when I refer people to their site and these people make a purchase. If you look at the top of my Shop page https://livingmaxwell.com/shop, I disclose this there.

Vermont Soap is not an advertiser and they do not pay me to endorse their products.

      Live well,
      Max

I use peroxide to sanitize my toothbrush. I wonder if that does the trick?

    • Max Goldberg says:

      Hi April,

I am not sure of that does the trick. Maybe someone from the company can answer this for you.

      Live well,
      Max
