My Dinner Last Night at Nanoosh in NYC

Last night in NYC, I went to Nanoosh, an organic restaurant that serves Mediterranean food. They have three locations in NYC, including Greenwich Village near Union Square and the Upper West Side.

The food is not super-fancy (which is why I like it) but is always consistent, very good and fresh. Plus, the food comes quickly and the wait staff is extremely attentive.

Here is what I had.

QUINOA SALAD

The organic quinoa salad contained walnuts, onions, red peppers, dried cranberries and raisins.

GREEK SALAD

This salad above doesn’t look like the the normal Greek Salad (romaine, tomato, cucumber, onions, olives, feta cheese, extra virgin olive oil and a feta dressing or citrus dressing).

I went without the onions, feta cheese and feta/citrus dressing.  For dressing, I ordered a side of walnut and grapefruit dressing, which contains no oil.

Kind of crazy to order a Greek Salad without the feta (isn’t that the point?) but who said that everything I do makes a lot of sense.  I think I order it for the the olives. I’m a HUGE fan of olives. Love them!

HUMMUS WITH CUMIN AND PAPRIKA

The hummus came with pita bread, which I didn’t eat.

Overall, another very solid meal and enjoyable experience at Nanoosh. I’ll definitely be going back.

On a side note, the woman I met in this blog post was at Nanoosh.
