Organic Avenue’s New Recipe and Lifestyle Book is Fantastic

With pressed organic juice now experiencing tremendous popularity, it seems that everyone wants a piece of the action and entrepreneurs from all over the country are quickly jumping into the juice game.

Yet, one of the pioneers of this massive trend, Denise Mari, founder of NYC’s Organic Avenue, was inspired by something other than money.

Having lost her younger sister to cancer at an early age, Denise quickly realized that she needed to live a life of real purpose and wanted to serve as an inspiration to other people.

Guided by the concept of ahimsa, which means “to do no harm”, her vegan and raw food lifestyle eventually manifested itself as Organic Avenue, and it was her goal to share her knowledge with as many individuals as possible.

Now, the publication of her just-released Organic Avenue: Recipes for Life, Made with Love* (LOVE = Live, Organic, Vegan, Experience) will allow her to do just that and reach people well beyond the confines of New York City.

This excellent book resonated with me for several reasons.

First, it is absolutely gorgeous. The photography is stunning, the styling is first-rate, and the overall presentation is incredibly appealing. The fact that it is so aesthetically pleasing makes you want to absorb every single page, which I did.

Second, I found the book to be very accessible. Even though there is a real sophistication to its look and feel, Organic Avenue: Recipes for Life, Made with Love* is not intimidating or overly complicated. I loved the wide range of recipes of juices, tonics, nut milks, salads, and soups, and the section about cleansing is extensive and very informative.

Lastly, I really appreciated that this book is a lot more than just food. Despite the fact that I write about organic food, I firmly believe that health is so much more than what we eat.

Denise shares this view as well and goes into important detail about what this means to her and how others can adopt a healthy lifestyle.

For more than a decade, I have had the good fortune to be a customer of Organic Avenue and always saw it as much than a store. As I have told Denise Mari in the past, I saw Organic Avenue as a service to the community. Why?

Because selling pressed organic juice in glass bottles and serving freshly-prepared organic food is a hard, hard business.

Denise Mari has always viewed this work as her life’s purpose, and this book is just the continuation of her mission.
