Sunday, the last day of Expo West, was noticeably much more quiet and did not have nearly the same size crowd as on Friday or Saturday. Nevertheless, I saw some fantastic new organic products, got to speak to a lot of interesting people and rounded out my two Top 5 Lists — Top 5 Organic Products and Top 5 Non-Organic Food Products of Expo West.
The lists will be compiled very soon as their own blog posts.
The only video I shot that day was with Minh Tsai of Hodo Soy Beanery, an artisinal tofu maker based in San Francisco. The video should be up within the next week or so.
Here are some pictures with several friends of mine from the organic food industry.
With Harold McCambridge, VP of Sales at Organic Food Bar.
With Lydia Kindheart, Founder of Lydia’s Organics.
With Brian Bowers, COO of Sunfood
With Christopher Angell, Founder of Angell Organic Candy Bars
With Frederick Schilling, Co-Owner of Big Tree Farms
With Vanessa Barg, Founder of Gnosis Chocolate
With Vince Panero, Marketing Director of Coconut Bliss
An awesome show and I can’t wait until next year. My Best of Show posts and more Expo West videos will be coming soon.
Hi Max,
Thank you. Yes, your reply was helpful.

Hi Stephanie,
Glad it was helpful and thanks for your interest in my site.

Hi Max,
I remember from an earlier post that you enjoy eating the Organic Food Bar’s Greens bar. Do you still eat them? I ask because you expressed concerns/reservations about eating foods that contain (some) agave nectar
in a recent post. I have enjoyed the Greens bar, the Original and the Protein bar
but I have stopped eating anything with agave nectar until I can get clarification/an understanding how healthy or unhealthy agave nectar may be or not.
Curious to know your thoughts.
All the best,
stephanie
Hi Stephanie,
I still do eat the Organic Food Bar Active Greens bar and only consume agave in very moderate amounts. I hear very mixed things about agave (there seems to be no clear consensus about whether it is good or bad) and therefore try to limit my intake as much as possible.
That being said, I have not eliminated it completely from my diet but will not buy bottles of it. I have been using palm sugar as my sugar alternative as of late.
I hope this is helpful.
Live well,
Max
Great post and pics….can’t wait for the one in 2012
Thanks so much Shannon. I feel the exact same way!

I love Lydia AND her amazing treats!!! I was unfamiliar with the brand until coming across it at Mother’s Market the day before Expo. I bought the Green Crackers and fell in love! I high tailed it to Lydia’s booth and WOW! What a cool lady! Her Sassy Spice Kale Krunchies are pretty awesome too!
Hi Colleen,
Her products are great and she was the second person to bring kale chips to the market. And, yes, a very cool person.
How was Expo West for you?
Live well,
Max
