My Organic Dinner at Angelica Kitchen in NYC

A few nights ago, I had dinner at Angelica Kitchen in New York City’s East Village.

Having been around for several decades, Angelica Kitchen is an absolute institution in New York City when it comes to organic food. And it never disappoints. The food is always so consistent and so good.

Here is what I had:

COMBINATION BOWL

In the combination bowl, I selected four sides – a grain, steamed vegetables, sea vegetables, and a bean.

Bean: Pinto

Sea Vegetables: Arame, hiziki

Steamed Vegetables: Kale, napa cabbage & collard greens, and turnips, sweet potatoes & butternut squash.

Grain: Millet

On the side I had a black sesame seed dressing, which was made with garlic, wasabi and toasted sesame seeds.

Like it always is, the combination bowl was very, very solid and just as I had expected.

BRITTLE

While it may sound like I am going overboard here, I am not. This is one of best tasting foods in all of New York City.

I don’t know why it is so good but it is rock-star amazing and addictive. Sweet, chewy, crunchy. Phenomenal.

The brittle is made with pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, pecans, rice syrup, maple sugar, vanilla, and sea salt.

If you’re ever in New York City, Angelica Kitchen is definitely worth visiting. Great food and very reasonable prices.
