GMO Organic News

For those who don’t know, both Naked Juice and Kashi are facing class action lawsuits.

Naked Juice is being sued for using GMOs and synthetic substances in its “Non-GMO” and “All-Natural” products. To read more about this case, click HERE.

Kashi is being sued for using hazardous substances, including uranium by-products, in its “All-Natural” products. To read more about this case, click HERE.

Since a lot of people have been asking for an update on these two cases, I decided to speak with Yve Golan, a lawyer who involved in both the Naked Juice and Kashi class action lawsuits, at the recent Natural Products Expo East trade show in Baltimore.

As she mentions in the video, if you want to participate in these cases, she can be contacted via her website.

It is also very important to point out that PepsiCo (parent company of Naked Juice) donated $2.5 million to defeat Proposition 37, California’s GMO-labeling initiative, and Kellogg’s donated close to $800,000 to defeat Proposition 37.

Needless to say, these are two of the many companies that I am boycotting because they have completely betrayed the American consumer by fighting against GMO-labeling.

  • Approximately in 2014 I received a $324.00 class action lawsuit settlement check because I was in the Kashi lawsuit. The same year I got a $40 class action lawsuit settelment check from the Trader Joes scandal – Google “All Natural Trader Joes”.

I am not interested in getting checks in the mail – I WANT CLEAN FOOD!

Why weren’t the CEO and Board of Directors put in prison? Trader Joe’s private label brand had dozens of products labelled “Organic” with the USDA organic seal but when these products were examined at an independent, third party lab, turned out it was NOT organic and full of pesticide, herbicide, fungicide residue and also anhydrous ammonia based synthetic fertilizers.

The USDA put in prison two working class beef ranchers – two brothers who were actually raising grass fed, pastured, open range livestock – the two brothers made the mistake of calling their beef “organic” but it was not actually certified. They lost their family owned cattle ranch and were sent to prison – in bankruptcy due to huge legal bills. But the USDA refused to fine, arrest or punish Horizion Dairy, Naked Juice or Odwalla for false labelling. If Horizion Dairy uses the “certified organic” USDA seal on all their products but is really making factory farmed dairy – why won’t the USDA punish Horizon and put the CEO in prison? IT is a felony to claim a product is organic when it is not…..Well the reason why the USDA coddles fake, bullshit corporate organic rubbish is because the USDA is run by former Monsanto executives – former executives of Archer Daniel Midlands and Cargill.

Horizon is bullshit “fake corporate organic” and Cornucopia Institute did aeriel surveillance and photographed Factory Farm Feedlot conditions that cows were subjected to. Organic certified dairy cows are supposed to have access to pasture, and plenty of room to walk around in the sunshine and fresh air. Horizon dairy runs feedlot operations which are Factory Farms and the cows live inside a dairy barn the size of a football field.

Another BULLSHIT hoax is all the eggs labeled “free range” – according to the USDA all a chicken needs is 12 inches x 12 inches to walk around in. Hardly an improvement on the caged birds living conditions. Free range is meaningless – such as “natural” is meaningless. Arsenic and cyanide is “natural”. Monsanto is calling GMO “The New Organic” and falsely alleging GMO uses far less pesticides WRONG!

We don’t need metal detectors – we need BULLSHIT detectors!

Hi I am wondering if i should be worried about this drink. I started having this drink a few weels ago when i started having milkshakes. Now i would want to know if i should worry about my babys health since im 8 months pregnant.

    • Max Goldberg says:

      Hi Giselle,

You’ll have to speak with your doctor. There is nothing that you can do about it now and if it were my wife, I would have her stop drinking it immediately.

  • I don’t think any of the ‘NOT natural’ ingredients in Naked Juice are dangerous.
I’m not an avid buyer of organic food.
BUT, I am a believer in allowing consumers to make an INFORMED choice.
Misleading labeling and questionable marketing methods are what has made consumers so suspicious about the food industry. One would think giants like Pepsi-Co would know better, but alas…

Thank you for posting this, Max. I regularly gave the Naked Juice product to my late son for several months while he was battling cancer, thinking he was getting natural juice to help build his immune system back up after chemo.
This really angers me and I definitely want to be part of the class action suit. I live in AZ. I hope we are part of this as well.

  • Haley says:

How do we get this information out to even more people, I heard about kashi using unnatural ingredients etc a couple years ago and have stopped buying the brand ever since, but they have such a presence In the health food stores and are one of the few ” natural” brands the regular commercial markets carry. Everyone thinks they are what they say they are. How can this be?

    • Max Goldberg says:

      Hi Haley,

It is a challenge that we face because mainstream media is not too interested in publicizing this information. Why? Pepsi, Kellogg’s and others are such big advertisers. Therefore, it falls on all of us to educate our friends and family as to what is really happening.

From what I hear, these boycotts we are doing against many of these brands are having a real impact — sales are down — and the companies facing these class action lawsuits are very concerned. So, it is just a matter of everyone sharing this information as much as possible.

      Live well,

  • alex says:

      Hi Alex,

Thanks for stopping by and for sharing this link with others. When I have further news, I’ll be sure to pass it along.

      Live well,
