Suja Elements is a Total Winner

(To get a $1 off coupon for any Suja Elements drink, see below.)

I come across hundreds of new organic products each year, and it doesn’t take long for me to assess which ones are truly special.

So, when I tasted Suja Elements the other day, I knew right away this drink belonged in that category.

Many people may be familiar with the Suja brand because its pressed organic juices are sold at stores throughout the U.S. Yet, this week the company is introducing a new smoothie line – Suja Elements – that is very, very unique.

Using cold-pressed organic juice as a base, Suja Elements also incorporates blended fruits and some of the world’s best superfoods. And unlike all of the other smoothies that you can buy at the store, this drink is not heat pasteurized.

Instead, the company uses a method called HPP (high pressure processing). This technology, which uses pressure instead of heat, allows the drink to retain a very high percentage of its nutrition while killing the harmful bacteria. So, the end-result is the highest quality organic smoothie on supermarket shelves.

Suja Elements currently offers nine smoothie-like drinks including:

24 Karat – carrot, apple, orange, pineapple, peach, and banana.

Green Charge – apple, pineapple, banana, mango, kiwi, kale, spinach, chia seed, flax seed, barley grass, spirulina, chlorella, and alfalfa.

Berryoxidant – apple, orange, strawberry, banana, raspberry, tart cherry, chia seed, flax seed, baobab, flax seed, camu camu, and acai.

Blue Dream – apple, pear, blueberry, coconut, honey, and vanilla.

Blutrients – apple, blueberry, blackberry, banana, chia seed, pomegranate, chlorella, baobab, and camu camu.

King of Greens – apple, cucumber, celery, kale, collards, spinach, lemon, ginger, chlorella, and spirulina.

Mango Fuego – apple, mango, banana, baobab, ginger, serrano chili, lime, pink Himalayan salt, and camu camu.

Tropicaloe – coconut water, pineapple, apple, aloe vera, lime, and mint leaf.

Macachino – coconut, coffee beans, cacao, maca, black sesame, vanilla, and coconut sugar.

WHY I AM A FAN

There are a few primary reasons why I think so highly of Suja Elements.

1) Excellent Taste and Texture – The taste is refreshing, and the drinks have perfect thickness. There are times when I want something more filling than a juice, and these smoothies provide that for me.

2) Fantastic Nutritional Boosts  Suja Elements uses A TON of powerful superfoods, including baobab, camu camu, and chlorella, all of which I have never seen in beverages before.

Baobab is an African superfood that has six times more vitamin C than oranges and twice as much calcium as milk, camu camu is very high in vitamin C and contains many important amino acids, and chlorella is an algae that contains 18 amino acids, 20 minerals and vitamins, and helps remove mercury from the body.

3) Social Impact  Aside from the taste and nutritional benefits, I also love the social aspect of this new juice line.

The company has created something called the Elements Cause Collective, a group of 12 important non-profits, including Food Democracy Now!, The Xerces Society, Whole Planet Foundation, Teens Turning Green, and others. For each bottle sold, $.20 will be donated to one of these non-profits in the Collective.

Suja Elements, verified Non-GMO by the Non-GMO Project, is sold exclusively at Whole Foods Market.

Overall, this is one of the smartest organic drink lines that I have seen since I started writing about the organic industry, and without a question, I will be buying Suja Elements when I go to Whole Foods Market, especially the Green Charge, my favorite flavor.
