Non-Organic Milk Tests Positive for Illegal Antibiotics, High Levels of Growth Hormones and Controversial Pesticide Contaminants

For years, I have been warning about the health risks of drinking non-organic hormonal milk.

But it isn’t just the synthetic growth hormones that are worrisome.

It is also the alarming level of antibiotics that animals receive and the pesticide-soaked, GMO grains they are fed.

A recently published report from researchers at Emory University, in collaboration with The Organic Center, is validating our concerns with non-organic milk. Read more »

Another Reason to Eat Organic – Lower Your Risk of Cancer by Up to 25%

In the latest President’s Cancer Panel report, it was found that 41% of Americans are going to get cancer and 21% of Americans are going to die from cancer.

What makes these numbers even more sobering is that this data was from a decade ago, and I have heard doctors say that they now believe a minimum of 50% of the population will get cancer at some point in their lives.

Given how deeply cancer has permeated our society, it would seem to make sense that people should be doing whatever they can to avoid contracting this deadly disease.

And according to a recent study out of France, as reported in JAMA Internal Medicine, eating as much organic food as possible is an important strategy to accomplish this. Read more »

High Levels of Lead and Cadmium Found in Organic Baby and Toddler Foods — What to Do About It

One of the perceptions of organic food in the marketplace is that it is free from all heavy metals, and as long as a food product contains the USDA organic seal, there is nothing to worry about.

I wish both were true, but unfortunately, they are not.

A recent investigation from Consumer Reports found concerning levels of heavy metals — cadmium, lead, and/or inorganic arsenic — in many baby and toddler food products, a good number of which were from organic brands.

While organic production prohibits the use of GMOs or super-toxic pesticides, such as glyphosate or atrazine, the logical question is: how did these heavy metals get into these organic products in the first place? Read more »

Monsanto Ordered to Pay $289M Over Cancer-Causing Chemical — What Organic Consumers Can Do Now

Last Friday, a California court ruled that Monsanto’s Roundup chemical caused groundskeeper Dewayne Johnson to get cancer (non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma) and ordered the company to pay $289M in damages.

This was a watershed moment for the industry, as organic advocates had been sounding the alarm for years about the toxic effects of this herbicide, whose main ingredient in glyphosate. Read more »

Why Organic Almonds? Because of the Super-Toxic Fumigant Propylene Oxide

As more and more people are moving toward a plant-based diet and migrating away from animal products, organic cannot be forgotten in this equation.

Unfortunately, I see far too many people who think that as long as it is plant-based, that is sufficient. It’s not.

Case in point: almonds.

In the early 2000s, there were a few outbreaks of salmonella traced to raw almonds from California, a state where nearly 100% of America’s almonds are grown. As a result, the USDA implemented a rule that required all almonds grown in California to be pasteurized. This holds true for both organic and non-organic varieties. Read more »

Why Truvani is a Must-Have Turmeric Supplement to Stay Healthy When Traveling

Whether you’re flying for business or pleasure, the truth is that traveling is not the healthiest activity.

Aside from the stress that traveling puts on your body and the unpredictability of healthy food available to you when on the road, getting on an airplane is a very toxic activity, largely because the cabin air is so contaminated.

This is why it is absolutely critical that you are prepared in advance.

And a new turmeric product called Truvani has just come out that is a must-have item for whenever you do travel. Read more »

Another Reason to Eat Organic — Protect Your Gut Health

(Our bodies contain approximately 100 trillion bacteria.)

Over the last few years, it has been a widely viewed belief among the medical community that the health of the bacteria in our bodies has a direct relationship to our overall health.

While the exact nature of the bacteria in our bodies still remains a big mystery, research is showing that certain bacteria can prevent and treat many common diseases. Read more »
