TIME SENSITIVE: Suja’s Limited Edition Midnight Tonic — Do What You Can to Get Them
Last week, I got a mysterious shipment from Suja and it was six black bottles of juice with a note inside of it that said:
A Secret So Juicy We Had to Share
I found this to be very strange on several levels.
Normally, when the company sends me product, I get advance warning and I also know what they are shipping out to me. In this package, not only did I have no idea that it was coming, but I had no idea what these juices were when I opened the box. You couldn’t read the label while the bottle was full of juice.
While I had a strong sense that the black color was probably activated charcoal, I was pretty clueless about the rest.
But after some further digging, I discovered what they were — Suja’s limited edition Midnight Tonic.
How limited? The company is only producing 1,000 bottles, and they go on sale tomorrow morning at 9AM EST on the Suja website. Consumers will only be able to buy one 6-pack of Midnight Tonic, no more and no less.
How does it taste? Insanely refreshing, insanely addictive. When I woke up this morning, the first thing that I thought about drinking was not green juice but Midnight Tonic. It’s that good.
Along with activated charcoal, which helps remove toxins from the body, the other ingredients are water, organic lemon juice, organic stevia extract leaf powder, organic schizandra berry juice and organic ginger juice.
Dr. Oz has touted the benefits of schizandra, a super-berry thought to improve memory, increase energy and have anti-aging properties. Ginger is great for digestion and inflammation, and lemon is excellent for detoxification and has abundant quantities of Vitamin C. Since stevia is the sweetener, this juice has zero grams of sugar.
Very quickly, Midnight Tonic has become my favorite Suja drink (replacing my beloved Lavenade), and rest assured that I will be pleading with my friends at Suja to make Midnight Tonic a permanent fixture in their juice line-up.
As a side note, releasing a limited edition juice was a brilliant marketing move. It’s this type of out-of-the-box thinking that has made Suja such a rock star in the industry.
