Yorganic is a Bona Fide Winner in Downtown NYC
UPDATE AS OF 11/20/13: I HAVE SINCE BEEN INFORMED THAT YORGANIC USES VERY LITTLE ORGANIC OR “ORGANIC WHENEVER IT IS AVAILABLE”. THEREFORE, I HAVE REMOVED IT FROM MY FAVORITE ORGANIC RESTAURANTS IN NYC LIST AND NO LONGER FREQUENT THIS ESTABLISHMENT.
Almost two decades ago, I worked in investment banking and our offices were near Wall Street in downtown Manhattan. This was many years before my organic eating habits developed, so I wasn’t overly concerned about from where I bought my lunch or dinner.
I often think what I would I do if I had my office in that part of the city now and the answer is simple: eat at Yorganic. A LOT.
Even though I work in the Village and don’t face that problem these days, I still make the trek down to the Wall Street area because the food at Yorganic is so good.
While Yorganic does has a varied menu, the Bowls are the centerpiece of this takeout restaurant. You can either have it with or without soup, and can add any ingredient that you like.
I have eaten at Yorganic several times over the past few months, and here are a few things that I ordered.
BLISS BOWL
In this Bliss Bowl, I ordered it with brown rice, tomatoes, broccoli, and kimchi.
HUMMUS, CARROT AND CUCUMBER SANDWICH
Also in this sandwich were sunflower sprouts, avocado and tomatoes.
FROZEN YOGURT
The food at Yorganic is extremely fresh, consistent, and great tasting. Aside from what you see above, they also have organic oatmeal, cereal, salads, soups, smoothies, juices, and wheatgrass shots.
The other aspect of Yorganic that I greatly appreciate is the service. The people who work there are well-trained, friendly, professional, attentive, and eager to get your order out as quickly as possible.
Yorganic proves that organic and healthy can work in a fast-food concept. I give it two thumbs up and have just added it to my list of the top organic restaurants in NYC.
